Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
Inquiry ("the app", "we", "us") is a subscription Bible-study app. We believe in collecting as little as possible and being plain about what we do collect. This policy explains it.
Information we collect
- Account identifier (User ID). When you open the app you are signed in with an anonymous Firebase account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, that account is linked to an identifier so your subscription persists across devices and reinstalls.
- Name and email. Only if you choose Sign in with Apple and consent to share them. Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your real address.
- Purchase information. When you subscribe, we record the transaction identifier and product so we can verify and restore your subscription. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details.
- Product interaction. Basic usage tied to your account — which mysteries you open, your conversation progress, and your weekly message count — so the app can save your place and apply fair-use limits.
How we use it
Strictly to operate the app: to authenticate you, deliver and restore your subscription, generate and save your investigation progress, and apply fair-use messaging limits. That's it.
What we do NOT do
- We do not use your data for tracking across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not serve advertising.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you.
Conversations and AI
Conversations with biblical characters are generated by a third-party AI service (Google's Gemini API). The text of your messages is sent to that service to produce a response. Do not share sensitive personal information in conversations.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of processors to run the app:
- Apple — authentication (Sign in with Apple) and all subscription payments.
- Google Firebase — anonymous authentication, database, and cloud functions that power the app.
- Google Gemini API — generating the witnesses' responses in conversations.
Data retention & deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app at any time (Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your user record, sessions, subscription records, and message counts, and deletes your authentication account.
Children
Inquiry is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the revised version here.
